June

In addition to being the month of the Sacred Heart, Dear Leader has now proclaimed June to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Pride Month:
As we honor the LGBT Americans who have given so much to our Nation, let us remember that if one of us [Um, like the unborn?] is unable to realize full equality, we all fall short of our founding principles. Our Nation draws its strength from our diversity, with each of us contributing to the greater whole. By affirming these rights and values, each American benefits from the further advancement of liberty and justice for all...
Blah, blah, blah... Sorry; my mind started wandering after the predictably selective application of "equality." Welcome to the Apocalypse. When smalltown bus drivers start lecturing schoolgirls on the rightness of same-sex marriage, and the school board refuses to discipline said drivers, you know the end is near.

I met a girl who sang the blues,
And I asked her for some happy news.
But she just smiled and turned away.

I went down to the sacred store,
Where I'd heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn't play.
And in the streets the children screamed.
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken.
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most,
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost,
They caught the last train for the Coast.
The day the music died.
