Blessed Charles de Foucauld
Ordained a priest at 41, Fr. Foucauld left to live in the Sahara among "the furthest removed, the most abandoned." On December 1, 1916, a group of bandits surrounded his home, bound him, looted the place, and shot him dead. He was beatified in Autumn 2005.

The Abbey of Clairval, just north of Dijon, has a shrine in honor of the blessed.
